Conshohocken Borough Council will hold a Public Hearing for the 2020 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) on August 19, 2020 at 7:00 pm. The public meeting will be held as a hybrid meeting with members of Borough Council, staff and professionals physically in attendance at Borough Hall, 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken PA 19428, and the public participating through GoToMeeting video conferencing. The public is encouraged to participate as follows:

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to discuss the CDBG Program; community needs of Conshohocken; the Borough’s past performance under previously funded CDBG program years; and areas to be addressed in the Three-Year Community Development Plan. There will be a designated time for public comment. Those with public comments shall state their name and address before comment. The public is asked to please keep their microphone on mute at all times, unless giving a public comment.  Written comments will be accepted for 10 days following the hearing; and may address the CDBG Program; community needs; proposed activities or on the past uses of CDBG funds.  Comments should be submitted to Christine Stetler, Conshohocken Borough Hall, 400 Fayette Street, Suite 200, Conshohocken PA or

CDBG funds must be used for the benefit of low-moderate income residents of Conshohocken. Activities eligible for CDBG funding include water and sewer line replacement and improvement; construction of affordable housing; housing rehabilitation; construction/reconstruction of public/community facilities; recreational facilities; public services that are new and provide quantifiable increases in the delivery of services; street improvements; removal of architectural barriers; economic development; code enforcement; acquisition and relocation; clearance and demolition; and general administration, planning, audit and preparation of the CDBG application if necessary.  Conshohocken would be responsible for the replacement of any demolished low-income housing units, which displace families, or individuals that result from a CDBG funded project.

Conshohocken is expected to receive an allocation of approximately $132,533 in 2020 CDBG funds through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Applications for CDBG funding are due to DCED by Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
