NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of the Borough of Conshohocken will consider the adoption of the following ordinances at its meeting on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 7:00 PM, in Borough Hall, located at 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. 

In accordance with the requirements of the Borough Code, the following is a summary of the proposed ordinances:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 15 VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN TO CREATE A ONE-WAY TRAFFIC PATTERN ON EAST SECOND AVENUE BETWEEN FAYETTE STREET AND HARRY STREET AND TO ESTABLISH CERTAIN 15 MINUTE “TO-GO ORDERS ONLY” PARKING SPACES ON EAST SECOND AVENUE AND EAST FIRST AVENUE AS MORE SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH HEREIN; REPEALING PRIOR INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND CONTAINING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The ordinance amends the Borough’s regulations regarding vehicles and traffic.  The ordinance creates one-way traffic on East Second Avenue from Fayette Street to Harry Street in the easterly direction.  The ordinance creates a stop intersection on West Second Avenue at its intersection with Forrest Street in the easterly direction.  The ordinance amends the parking regulations in the Borough to provide 15-minute “To-Go Orders Only” parking on the north side of East First Avenue between Fayette Street and Harry Street (3 spaces identified by posted signage) and on the north side of East Second Avenue between Fayette Street and Harry Street (4 spaces identified by posted signage).  The ordinance repeals prior inconsistent ordinances and parts of ordinances, provides a severability clause, and sets an effective date. 

Amendment to Parking and Traffic Ordinance

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CONSHOHOCKEN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION WITH RESPECT TO PAID FIRE APPARATUS OPERATORS AND RANKING OFFICERS PURSUANT TO 8 Pa.C.S.A. SECTION 1170, ET. SEQ.; REPEALING PRIOR INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND CONTAINING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The ordinance creates a civil service commission pursuant to the Pennsylvania Borough Code for fire apparatus operators and ranking officers, comprised of 3 members that are qualified electors of the Borough, as well as up to 3 alternate members, also required to be qualified electors of the Borough.  The ordinance sets a 6 year term for commission members and alternate members, provides for the filling of vacancies on the commission, provides for the participation of alternate members, and provides for the powers and authority of the commission, including its organization, rules and regulations, keeping of minutes, and examinations.  The ordinance authorizes the appropriate officers of the Borough to take action necessary and appropriate to carry out the purpose and intent of the ordinance. The ordinance repeals prior inconsistent ordinances and parts of ordinances, provides a severability clause, and sets an effective date.
