COUNCIL MEMBER & COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

 

Ed Phipps - Parks & Recreation, Public Safety, Finance & Fellowship House

 

(1) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to award the “A” Field building stucco re-bids to Duall Builders Restoration, Inc. for the amount of $76,600 for the base bid and pay for this out of the Parks and Recreation Fund.

(2) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to take the “A” Field floor replacement cost out of the Parks and Recreation Fund.

(3) The Parks and Recreation meeting for July has been changed to July 20, 2009 at 5:30 P.M.

(4) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to release the maintenance bond for the ramp at Aubrey Collins Park pending the Engineer’s approval.

 

Bob Stokley - Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Personnel, Building & Grounds & Fellowship House

 

(1) Council will have to record for the minutes the Wednesday, July 1, 2009 vote taken to adopt a motion to authorize the Manager to sign the sewer module for 15 Colwell Lane for Rumsey Electric which the Sewer Authority has approved. Mr. Stokley made the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Griffin, everyone voted in favor of the motion except for Mr. Salus who was absent.

(2) The Borough will stop selling leaf bags once this order is sold out, because residents can purchase these bags at a number of different locations now.

(3) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion authorizing the Engineer to begin work on construction documents and necessary PENDOT permits for streetscape improvements to the 500 block of Fayette Street. The estimated engineering costs for the project are $45,594.50.

(4) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to authorize the Engineer to bid 100 Block of Fayette Street Streetscape improvements. Total cost of the project is $377,235. The County grant for the project is $286,000; and the Borough match is $91,235.00

(5) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to authorize the Engineer to bid the Open Space Greening and Bicycle Rack project. The project will provide street trees from the 100 to 400 block of Fayette Street; trees along portions of Maple, Ash and Cherry Streets; bicycle racks along Fayette Street and bicycle racks at each of the Borough parks.

 

(6) Council needs to authorize the Manager to release the following escrows:

 Ike Griffin - Transportation & Parking, Public Safety & Building & Grounds

 

(1) Council will have to record for the minutes the Wednesday, July 8, 2009 vote taken to adopt a motion to approve a Waiver of Off-Street Parking request for 16 East First Avenue. Mr. McConnell made the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Phipps, a roll call was taken everyone voted in favor of the motion except Mr. Tucci and Mr. Griffin who was absent.

 

Tony Tucci - Public Safety, Public Works, Parks & Recreation & Library

 

(1) Council will have to record for the minutes the Wednesday, July 1, 2009 vote taken to adopt a Resolution for the appointment of Steven Phipps as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the Borough. Mr. Stokley made the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Tucci, a roll call was taken everyone voted in favor of the motion except Mr. Phipps who recused because it is his brother and Mr. Salus who was absent.

(2) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to have the Career Fire Fighters become certified in the Property Maintenance Code so that they can issue ordinance violations if they have down time.

(3) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to rebid the Code vehicle again.

(4) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to approve the Insurance Company’s settlement proposal for the Kurt Gale v. Borough of Conshohocken lawsuit.

(5) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to release Narberth Ambulance’s 2009’s contribution in the amount of $2,000.

(6) The Code Department has started to step up enforcement in the Borough for any Ordinance violations.

 

Paul McConnell – Personnel, Finance, Public Works, Building & Grounds, Transportation & Parking, & Library

 

(1) There is a Police and Firemen’s Pension meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 7:30 P.M.

(2) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a Resolution formally thanking a resident for all their work on the new Borough’s Website.

 

Jason Salus - Building & Grounds, Personnel, Transportation& Parking, Finance & Mary Wood Park House

 

(1) Council will have to record for the minutes the Wednesday, July 1, 2009 vote taken to adopt a motion for the Waiver of Off-Street Parking request for 319 Forrest Street. Mr. Stokley made the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Griffin, everyone voted in favor of the motion except Mr. Salus who was absent.

 

Joe Collins - Mayor Report

 

(1) Police report for the month.

(2) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to hire James Green as a crossing guard pending all background checks.

(3) The Police Department is accepting applications for crossing guards for next year.

(4) The Mayor would like Council to adopt a motion to approve Anthony Santoro’s request for his second tuition reimbursement for 2009 for $1,225.00 which includes book cost.

(5) The Mayor would like Council to adopt a motion to approve William Walter’s request for his first and second tuition reimbursement for 2009 for $654.00 plus book cost.

 

 

Sandy Caterbone - President

 

(1) I received a call from Comcast that they can no longer pay a Company to tape our Borough Council Meeting because it is not in our Franchise Agreement with them. They will continue to tape the meetings for a period of time and during this time they will help us to get our Community Channel up and running so that we can tape our own meetings.

(2) The Farmers Market is open every Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

(3) Council will have to discuss if they want to make appointments to the Community Revitalization Task Force pending them accepting the appointment to work on updating our plan. These appointments can be made this month or in August.

(4) Council will have to discuss if they want to adopt a motion to authorize the Solicitor to advertise and prepare an Ordinance for a change in our deed registration Ordinance for next month.
