Conshohocken Borough

2010 Year in Review

Accomplishments:

• 30 bare-root trees purchased and distributed to Conshohocken residents for planting through the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) TreeVitalize program
• Designed and purchased event banner to increase community awareness and exposure
• Reviewed existing budget and reduced by 51%
• Continued volunteer outreach efforts
• Modified revisions and re-submitted the borough ordinances regarding street trees
• Featured in Times Herald article highlighting the greening of Conshohocken
• Organized a group of 25 volunteers from communities across the metro area and successfully compiled an initial inventory of street trees currently in the borough
• Established a secure location in the borough for storing supplies and records

Future plans:

• Refine and complete street tree inventory of all the trees currently in the borough
• Establish an ‘Adopt-a-Block’ program to increase our volunteer outreach efforts
• Launch an education program to promote community involvement
• Apply for Tree City USA status
