Borough of Conshohocken One-Way Avenue Proposal The Borough is currently entertaining a proposal to reconfigure each un-signalized Borough Avenue along Fayette Street.  The key elements of the plan include making those Avenues one-way away from Fayette Street for two (2) blocks in each direction.  Specifically, the proposal includes the two (2) blocks from Fayette Street to Hallowell Street on the east side, and from Fayette Street to Maple Street on the west side.  The subject Avenues are 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th.  The signalized intersections; Elm, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th and 11th would remain two-way. The principle objectives of the reconfiguration are as follows: Create additional parking by use of back-in angled parking stalls on the one-way Avenues. Promote access to Fayette Street from signalized intersections only. Eliminate vehicular access to and crossing of Fayette Street where no traffic control exists. Eliminate the need to remove parking spaces on Fayette Street to provide adequate sight distance for drivers turning onto or crossing Fayette Street.   One-Way Avenue Study - Engineers Report ** Note ** -- All images can be zoomed via the icon in the upper right corner.
